On Racism

God never made a mistake when he created the dark skinned man. He/she shouldn’t be judged based on what their forefathers did or failed to do, For a new dawn is upon us, just in the horizon, when the dark skin will cease to be associated with poverty, disease, war or ignorance.

The ‘dark continent’ is a treasure box; full of beauty, strength, traditions rich, natural resources, wild life, tall-dark-handsome men and beautiful women, communities that blend and dwell together in harmony and deeply care for each other, music, oh the sweet African music…the list is endless…

What Africa lacks can be worked on, her infrastructures can Be built, her medical centres can be modernized, her corrupt leaders can be dealt with appropriately, the weak areas can be fixed; Sooner rather than later, the ‘dark days’ as it were, will/shall be remembered no more.

The other day I sat on the train, just minding my own business and then this (you won’t believe this), half Asian half white guy came and sat next to me and then from nowhere he started making some nasty racist comments, I mean the guy went on and on for what seemed like 30 minutes, all this time I was looking at him bewildered! The absurd thing was that I had no trace of anger in my heart, I felt great remorse and utmost regret for him and his ‘white privilege’ notion! if only Rome knew what was coming, she wouldn’t walk in pride, for her pride preceded her fall!

Having said that, I have so much love for my Caucasian, Asian and Latino family and friends….But racist individuals whether black or white, they all deserve a hi five…in the face…with a chair!!!
